CONCEPT

PILOT PROJECT: EXHIBITION STORE, SPATA – VISIONARY APPROACH

What is guiding our first black sketch lines on white paper?

The pilot project, having as focal point the company’s exhibition store at Spata, was about marking the basic approach parametres of our architectural design method for the new design identity of Candia.

The premier step of our research was an in situ observation of the factory construction procedures, the creation methods and workforce collaborations. The soul of the company’s herritage is: the quality of the basic raw materials, the handmade and collaborative processes, the tangible feeling of togetherness, and the productive mixture of tradition with innovation.

Our approach in conceiving the new design identity was all about transforming an exhibition space into a Handmade Landscape that would subconsciously awaken to the visitor memories of their childhood, their summer vacations, their family fests; an interior landscape that can be perceived through our senses: our vision, our hearing, our touch, our taste, our smell.

And we created sceneries. A wooden pergola sky with fabric waves. A welcome unit of a wooden flower box filled with lavender. A mural of a mediterranean land constructed by 3d wooden geometric segments. Welcome.
