Our “memories” as a whisper of design

OUR MEMORIES
The pilot presentation of the company’s new design philosophy was materialized at the 56th edition of Salone del Mobile 2017. The new Architectural Concept Design for CANDIA, is perceived as a “lived moment” of the values and the aura of the Mediterranean. Architecture from its early sketches, is breathing through the wave of people’s common memories: the sun’s intensity on the skin, the smells of the herbs, the sand on the toes, the sound and the “arms” of the sea, the dry stone walls and olive trees, the Sunday gathering around a family table filled with natural goods, tastes and people’s everyday memories. The design communicates a tribute to human roots, thus transforming the “exhibition pavilion” into a natural land experience, a “home”.
Our visitors where welcomed by the white, sandblasting walls and our colourful mediterranean yard with herbs and lemon trees wherein a Sunday table filled with “natural flavours” was set. A pie made of cotton wool, a loaf made of cashmere, a flagon made of coconut fibers. The facade of our home was completed with a big scale window with custom-made wooden shutters placed above a hand-made construction of a dry stone wall. The footsteps of our guests where guided inside our “home” by a wooden pergola, leading them to the central resting area, to the linear bench with a flower bοχ filled with lavender, to the “red” wall with the olive tree sculpture and a sky made of wave-patterned fabrics.
Candia’s exhibition design for the isalone 2017, enhances our philosophy of creating a graceful tale. Our main desire is that of an architecture you can smell, feel, touch, discover, taste, listen and love.
